Part 1 RPG Training

POSTING STRUCTURE

While it varies between games, there is a certain, basic structure that you'll probably be using in your RPG posts, as follows. In black is what you'd write, and in red are the explanations for each part.

~~~
IC: John Han (This is where your character's name goes. Note the "IC:" before the full name.)
In his shop on Corellia (This just describes your character's location. It's not always necessary. Just follow the GM's lead.)
John sat silently, eating his sandwhich and admiring the stars above. His wife had always loved stargazing, and it was clear nights like these that made him remember her. It was a bittersweet memory. (This is the story text -- the main contents where you'll react to posts IC and make IC comments/observations. THIS IS NOT AN EXAMPLE OF A GOOD POST. This is just to show you formatting. More on good posts later and in Part 2.)
TAGs: @SarahDickens, @JakeLloyd, @MarkRobbins (This is where you tag people who are going to want to know you posted. I'll explain later how you determine this, but this is your GM (or co-GM in a big game) and other players that are going to interact or have interacted with you.)
OOC: Thanks everyone! I'll be out tomorrow, fyi. (There is where you make game-related comments that aren't in-character, unless directed otherwise by the GM)
Now, so you can see the whole post without the comments.....
You can ignore the "~"s. They're just to help you see the post as separate from my words.
So, now that you know how to structure a post, let's go on to how the actual writing should be done.
